Alternate economies!

We deeply appreciate working in solidarity that includes mutuality. We are excited to work with you to arrange:

• “work shares” or work hours toward payment. Our work shares are 1 hr/week for the duration of your share. For meat, eggs, or other goods: $15/hr toward your bill (pay rate is higher for expert skills/experience). Work hours on the farm are negotiable and will align with your skill set- light farming tasks, heavy-duty tasks, construction, cleaning, child-care, sharing your skill or talent at an event, or whatever you can think of!  

• trade and barter. Since most items and skills are non-fungible we’ll need to work out a case-by-case arrangement that either combines cash payment with trade/barter or replaces cash payment entirely. Things we’ve traded or bartered in exchange for meat, eggs, and veggies in the past: prenatal care and birth, firewood, childcare, honey and fruit, our website, lumber milling, skills workshops. Feel free to come with an offer prepared or just let us know you’d like to explore making one.

solidarity shares

Giant Journey Farm offers a limited number of FREE CSA shares which can include meat and/or eggs throughout the year. If you think you might benefit from a solidarity share, or know someone who might, please reach out to us by email or phone.
