Our Vegetable CSA
Most weeks, from February to December, Giant Journey Farm offers boxes filled with fresh, local vegetables that you pick up at the farm.
Our farm works mainly on a CSA (community supported agriculture) model where people can buy CSA farm shares in advance and be stakeholders in our farm. A discount to your subscription is applied if you agree to contribute to a functional aspect of the farm (for instance: weeding, newsletter writing, or offering a special service you are skilled in) otherwise, you contribute by paying the full fee. You can read more about our shareholder benefits and expectations at the link above.
If you’re not interested in becoming a shareholder, you can also order one box at a time, (or visit our farmstand) but we can’t guarantee availability each week since priority needs to go to our shareholders and we may not have week-to-week boxes available.

Check out what’s in season on our farm!
Half Boxes
Our half box is a reliable workhorse! It’s suitable for a single person who doesn’t need too much hanging around or folks looking to supplement their garden’s bounty. It’s also the box size available to take advantage of our extremely early fresh produce!
The boxes typically include: one-two bunches of greens, a root vegetable (carrot, radish, parsnip, etc), and a seasonal vegetable.
Regular Boxes
Our regular box is good for a small family with basic produce needs (omnivores).
The boxes typically include: one-two bunches of greens, a root vegetable, three seasonal vegetables (tomato, cucumber, squash, broccoli, etc), and a pint of fruit as available (typically berries).

Want to make it a half-share? We understand for smaller households a whole dozen eggs or a whole broiler chicken every week could be hard to manage. Let us know if you need a half share option.
*You do NOT need to order veggie shares to sign up for one (or several!) of these other options.
Chicken
Comes as a whole roaster. $90 per share period ($18 per week). Depending on seasonal availability, we may only offer meat bi-weekly (your total will be adjusted).
Rabbit
Comes as a whole rabbit. $75 per share period ($15 week). Depending on seasonal availability, we may only offer meat bi-weekly (your total will be adjusted).

Payments
We are now participants in NOFA-VT’s Farm Share subsidy program! (Please indicate in your order that you intend to apply to NOFA-VT.)
We are now authorized to accept EBT! (Please note EBT shareholders may only pay in two-week increments. Please indicate in your order that you intend to use EBT.)
We also accept cash, check, and Venmo (@Kendra-Dias-2) or PayPal (giantjourneyfarm@gmail.com).
We ask that you determine the amount you need to pay when ordering. But we’re happy to figure out the amount if you run into trouble. Just shoot us an email or call. We do offer a sliding scale option as well as a limited number of solidarity shares. If you think you would benefit from a solidarity share please reach out to us.
If not paid in full, a 50% deposit is due one week before shares begin, remaining payments will be split evenly over the course of each week unless otherwise arranged.
We also take barter, trade, and work hours toward payment so folks should reach out to us if money is a barrier to getting shares.
Pickup & Delivery
When ordering you’ll need to choose one of our convenient pick up windows: Tuesdays 3:00-6:00 at an off-farm location (Brattleboro, Athens, Marlboro) or Saturdays 9:00-12:00 on the farm.
These pick up times are NOT interchangeable, when you choose one, that is your designated pick up for your shares. You may contact us to change your pick up day and time between share periods if you find your choice isn’t working for you.
If you’re not able to pick up your box, please be in touch with us with 24hrs notice so that we can edit our weekly harvest. Any box left an hour after the pick up window without prior arrangement is subject to resale without refund!
Typically, box pickups happen at the farm but we can deliver for housebound or high-risk folks for a fee. If three or more families in the same area get together and agree on an alternate pick up location, we can deliver to that spot for a reduced rate.
