Targeted/Conservation Grazing Rental

What does this mean?

Cost

$400-$800 per acre

Includes/Does not include

In addition to the day-to-day care of the animals (feeding and watering), you are responsible for keeping an eye on the fence charger and battery and ensuring the fence is still functioning. As soon as you are aware there is an issue with the fencing, it is imperative that you reach out to us immediately to reduce the risk of the animals getting loose.

In the event they are loose, it is your responsibility to catch/corral/or otherwise keep them safe until we can come and take care of the fence.

Availability

Goats are available starting in late April depending on the space they’ll be managing as particularly wet or muddy conditions are not acceptable and in such cases work will need to wait until after mud season for the area to dry out. They can continue work through late October.

We will not rent a single goat alone or more than 3 per acre section. As this is not our primary business, we have limitations concerning our labor availability as well as the length of fence and number of goats we can commit to a particular job.

Boarding

We offer short-term livestock boarding for small ruminants.

Cost

Keep in mind that the cost of boarding a horse averages $400-$500 per month (and can go as high as $1,200-$2,500 in metropolitan areas) where the horse is assigned a stall and you're given access to trails, a pasture, or arena but services such as mucking out stalls, feeding, and turning out your horse to pasture may not be included in the price.

—-Fee schedule

All care and fees are non-negotiable as the health and welfare of your animals can directly affect the health and welfare of ours.

Should your goat(s) become ill during their stay you will be solely responsible for all veterinarian service fees. If you have a specific veterinarian we should have that information on file before boarding begins.

We do not provide breeding or kidding services for animals we don’t own.

We do not accept liability in the case of animal death. As a courtesy we do offer a burial space and ceremony.

Availability

We cannot board more than 6 goats total at any time. This ensures all the goats are taken care of at top standards and will have enough space to graze and bed comfortably without risk of illness or depleting our land.

We do not board goats year round or permanently. We cannot guarantee that we can rehome or adopt goats we board if folks no longer want or are unable to care for them. In the event you forfeit your goats, they can be sent to auction and we will retain the sale price
